south coast lacrosse association

is an organization dedicated to the advancement of youth lacrosse in the Lowcountry.

All players regardless of age or skill level will be welcomed to use our park facilities to develop their skills, play pickup games, practice with their teams and enjoy outdoor recreation. The park will serve all players from the first-timer to the college-bound all-star, the youngest little leaguers to adult club teams.

More than fields, the SCLA non-profit will support kids and the community with free equipment, lessons and education of this increasingly popular sport.

  • To support the play of lacrosse as a recreational sport by the youth of Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties and nearby areas

  • To educate the local youth and community about lacrosse and its benefits of fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship

  • To create and maintain playing fields and facilities on Daniel Island in Charleston County, South Carolina, for the purpose of playing, practicing, teaching and sharing the sport of lacrosse

mission

South Coast Lacrosse Association is organized exclusively for the promotion of youth lacrosse play.

our story

At their core, the non-profit and park are about our community helping kids grow up happy and healthy. Through learning and playing lacrosse, we find fun, fitness, teamwork, leadership, competition and community.

The Lowcountry is a wonderful place to live, but open space and sports fields are extraordinarily hard to find and reserve. The Park will be a community space dedicated to lacrosse. Everyone will be welcome, from the first-time player to the college-bound all-star, and from the youngest little leaguers to the adult club teams. More than fields, the non-profit will support kids and the community with free equipment, lessons and educational events, and by helping cities, towns and schools start programs.

We need to celebrate our lacrosse park.

The Park brings us:

  • Fields dedicated and maintained first and foremost for the safe play of lacrosse
  • The convenience of a primary field for practices
  • The ability to schedule practices, camps and more months in advance
  • Fields with lights
  • A wall for player practice
  • A shooting cage for player practice

If we build it, we have a consistent, first class place for lacrosse for a generation of kids and families. It will be a lacrosse community that will play, develop and give back to the next generation of kids. This community will go beyond high school as the players that graduate may return to coach the next generation of youth.

We also have our popular Aloha games when the alumni come back to play a game against current high school players. As more and more kids play lacrosse the more we can do for players beyond high school.
